This web site serves Jewish genealogists
with roots in Bavarian Swabia and affiliates as a meeting place and workbench.
Our aim is to make historical civil records and other relevant archival material
digitally accessible on the internet. |
 |
This web site has two areas: an outer, publicly accessible area containing some introductory material of general interest, and a password-protected work area. The protected area includes a discussion forum, databases and other work in progress. It is a 'hard hat and work boot' area figuratively.
We have to protect the material until it is properly sifted and organized.
Ultimately, it will probably become publicly accessible through JewishGen.

To prepare the way towards a fully accessible, searchable, public database, we make those records already entered available to anybody interested. The database summary gives you an overview of what records are already available, which records are still be worked on or are not yet in our hands. A fairly sophisticated search engine can be accessed for those records already entered.

Membership in jgbs is free, although we do engage in some fund raising to pay for the archival copies, which cost us about U$1 per page. If you you do have a legitimate interest in our work and would like to join, write to us. |

As an added free benefit members can have their own
mail box (yourName@jgbs.org). Ask the webmaster
about it. |
